WAKEFIELD, MA -- September 03, 2008 -- CourseAdvisor, an established marketing and lead generation company operating one of the top online education directories, CourseAdvisor.com, today announced the appointment of Dr. Brian Eberman as the company's new CEO. Eberman joined CourseAdvisor in August 2006 and has since been serving as Vice President of Engineering and Operations, responsible for overall development and operations of CourseAdvisor's online education directory. He replaces Jimmy Van Alen who was appointed President in late 2006. Van Alen will leave the company in October after overseeing the transition.
"Brian's technology expertise is a significant asset to bring CourseAdvisor to the next stage of growth as a leader in the postsecondary lead generation market," said Founder and Chairman Greg Titus. "I look forward to working closely with Brian on developing new strategies for providing better quality leads and improved enrollment rates to our clients, while expanding CourseAdvisor.com to better suit the changing demographics of postsecondary students."
Dr. Eberman has almost two decades of experience in engineering and product development. Prior to CourseAdvisor, he led product management for Nuance Communications' $100 million speech division. In addition, Eberman held senior management positions at Digital Equipment and Exos, Inc., and holds thirteen patents in Internet search, speech technology and virtual reality.
"CourseAdvisor's data-driven approach to lead generation in this highly competitive industry is a proven model that I look forward to developing even further," said Dr. Eberman. "Over the last two years we have changed the market perception around lead quantity vs. quality. I plan to work with Greg and the rest of the team to find innovative ways to build on our initial success and continue to be a trusted resource for postsecondary education."
