GreenPrint Launches Mac Version

The latest version of GreenPrint's paper-saving software was designed from scratch for Mac users

GreenPrint Technologies today announced the launch of a Mac version of its paper-saving software after more than a year in planning and development. The Mac version was created from the ground up around the OSX platform. It incorporates the core paper-saving functionality of the GreenPrint Enterprise and Home Premium counterparts but also includes some new features not available on the PC version and a more elegant user interface.

"We've received hundreds and hundreds of e-mails requesting a Mac version of the software," said GreenPrint CEO Hayden Hamilton, "so we are incredibly excited to finally have a Mac version available."

Apple's popularity has been steadily increasing over the past few years and is expected to continue to grow. Earlier this year Gartner predicted that Apple's share of the computer market would double to 12 percent by 2011.
In addition, a research report released by Forrester last year indicated that Mac users are significantly more eco-friendly than users of other vendors' PCs. "It's those types of figures that demonstrate what a significant opportunity the Mac platform offers, so we have very high hopes for the response," said Hamilton.

GreenPrint software eliminates waste before printing, saving paper, ink, and millions of trees. It does this by analyzing each page of every document sent to the printer and looking for typical waste characteristics (e.g. pages with just a URL, banner ad, logo, or legal jargon) and then highlighting and removing them. GreenPrint also allows users to remove images from a page with a single click before printing, resulting in significant savings in ink or toner.
