Bacardi New HQ Has Gone Green

Bacardi USAŽ, the import/marketing/sales facet of the rum-manufacturing giant recently opened their posh new headquarters in upscale Coral Gables, Florida.

The facility reflects the company's growing commitment to mixing the operating of a profitable business with the responsibility of creating a workplace that meets the US Green Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification guidelines.

This facility is a milestone for Bacardi environment and green-surge thinking, giving them a benchmark facility to share with the world.

Done in an elegant Mediterranean style, the building has over 230,000 SF of office space incorporating healthy work area ideas such as: waste reduction, heat island reduction, protected "greenfields" and more. By creating a more environmentally friendly work area, Bacardi environment and engineering teams have designed a beautiful new facility reflecting the growing trend among many companies to exhibit a commitment to becoming a greener citizen of the Planet Earth.

Indeed, companies everywhere are making very obvious public efforts to impress consumers with their intent to become environmentally friendly. This concept or idea of building Bacardi's green workplace is not unique. Companies everywhere are rushing to do their part to aid the environment and get a positive PR spin out of their investment, hoping to encourage "greenies" to buy their products.

The new green-friendly work facility will be a definite boost to employee morale and offer their staff a healthier work location. In fact, having a green Bacardi environment might prove instrumental in their being able to recruit better employees. Between the South Florida sunshine and this green building, they are bound to pique the interest of qualified persons with environmental consciences.

Whatever the reason, the rum and alcoholic beverage giant is making a very green statement with these new offices. One can only hope that they will inspire other large businesses operating in the fragile South Florida ecosystem to follow suit.
