Sennheiser Returns to Milwaukee's Summerfest, Engaging Music Fans and Musicians With "HearIAm" Initiative

Sennheiser Invites Musicians Aboard Tour Bus to Relax and Check Out Latest Microphone, Wireless and Headphone Technology

Audio specialist Sennheiser announces its return to Milwaukee's Summerfest, the world's largest music festival, for the second consecutive year. Summerfest typically attracts between 800,000 and 1,000,000 music fans each year, and boasts 11 stages with performances from over 700 bands. At its site on the north grounds near Gate 1, Sennheiser will also be introducing music fans and musicians to its groundbreaking HearIAm initiative, designed for sound loving musicians and fans to discover and share new music.

In addition to hosting ongoing musical performances at its tent, Sennheiser will have its Sound Squad available to demo the latest Sennheiser headset offerings, which will be offered to attending consumers at special Summerfest prices. Similar to last year, the Sennheiser tour bus will also be on hand to entertain Summerfest artists and crews who want to relax, meet its artist relations team and learn more about Sennheiser's innovative audio products, including microphones, headphones and wireless solutions.

HearIAm
By stopping by the Sennheiser tent, music fans and musicians can learn more about HearIAm, an innovative means for music fans to access a treasure trove of the finest as yet undiscovered music available. HearIAm can also help musicians by facilitating exposure to potentially thousands of fans who crave new music that is both fresh and passionate.

To develop HearIAm, Sennheiser partnered with Pick The Band -- the world's first "fan-run record label." Through HearIAm.com, fans can preview and share thousands of their favorite music tracks with others using customized social media tools and applications developed by Sennheiser and Pick The Band. Moreover, fans are able to cast votes for their favorite artists, making both artists and fans eligible to win a myriad of exceptional prizes including trips to well known American music festivals such as New York's 2010 CMJ Music and Film Marathon and Montreal's Osheaga 2010.

Benefits of Participation in HearIAm
All musicians who register for the contest on HearIAm.com will receive a robust marketing toolkit that includes several electronic communication pieces -- such as Facebook badges -- to help them reach out to fans more effectively. Several finalists will receive customized phone applications to assist in their outreach activities, and will become eligible to win a performance slot at major American music festivals, along with $10,000 in Sennheiser gear. Partnering festivals include Montreal's Osheaga 2010, which occurs this July and New York's CMJ Music Marathon in October. Other festivals will be announced in the near future.

Music fans have a chance to win one of several trips to the same festivals by sharing artists' music through social media outlets as well as by participating in the final voting process. Several smaller prizes will also be awarded. By the time the contest wraps up in spring of 2011, a single grand-prize winner will be selected to receive a special A&R showcase and a distribution deal, courtesy of Universal Republic records.
