Meet Soul Circus Cowboys:
Lead vocals - Singer/Songwriter Billy McKnight:
Billy McKnight made an upward spiral on the charts as a solo artist with tracks such as "All-American" and "You Wanna Make Something of It."
With a wide vocal range, and impressive stage presence, Billy has become one of the best "crowd pleasers" country music has seen in some time. As a founding member of Soul Circus Cowboys, McKnight's magical voice led the band into the limelight with the group's first hot single, "Love's Like A Rodeo."
"Soul Circus Cowboys is a culmination of my life's work performing on stage and writing music," said McKnight. "It has been a transition going from a solo artist to a member of a band but I couldn't be happier. The guys in the band are awesome; they have the talent, experience and the personalities for national performances."
Guitar - Johnny Chromatic:
Johnny Chromatic is an endorser of Dean Guitars and known for his performances with Sebastian Bach (former singer of Skid Row) in recent tours around the globe on the same bill with Guns N' Roses. Johnny played guitar on Bach's legendary album, "Angel Down," which included three guest vocals by Axl Rose. Johnny is also fresh off a worldwide tour including performances in front of numerous crowds with 75,000 plus fans in attendance.
"I'm really excited about playing with Soul Circus Cowboys," stated Chromatic. "I've known Billy McKnight for years and we always talked about performing together; now, it has all come together. I've been playing country music and blues since I was a boy and I believe that Soul Circus Cowboys will be an opportunity for me to showcase my guitar playing."
Bass - Chaz Dykes:
Chaz Dykes performed in major productions such as the 21st Century video with Jeff Scott Soto (singer who laid down the lead vocals for the movie "Rock Star" and Journey) from the new release "Beautiful Mess."
Chaz has a long list of achievements from performing to crowds of 20,000 plus at numerous festivals including seven "Livestocks'' with his former band Blak.
From opening for the likes of Motley Crue and Kid Rock, to sharing the stage with Matchbox 20 to the Warren Brothers, to studio sessions and recording with John Petrucci from Dream Theater. Chaz has been a staple in the Tampa music scene for years as an all around true bass player crossing all styles
"I don't like wasting my time. I want to play with serious musicians and that's why I joined Soul Circus Cowboys. The songs are great and it's a chance to perform with top artists in the music business."
Drums - Jason Alfano:
Jason Alfano starting playing drums at the young age of 6 years old and he said his earliest band memory is, "my fellow band members hauled their equipment to my house in a Radio Flyer wagon- (laughing) they are still great friends of mine to this day!"
Known as a first call drummer for live and studio work in the Tampa Bay area, Jason has many session credits for performances such as early recordings with Lorna Bracewell (young folk singer who has been on stage with Amy Grant, Patty Larkin, Chris Isaak, Karla Bonoff, The Pretenders, Colin Hay, and Heart). As a former member of Basic Rock Outfit, Jason has shared the stage and opened for many national acts of all genres including Artimus Pyle (legendary drummer of Lynard Skynard) to pop superstar Rhianna.
With Basic Rock Outfit, Jason had music produced by Sylvia Massy-Shivy (engineer and mixer for Johnny Cash's "Unchained" album, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, top producing hard rock acts such as Tool and System Of A Down). This record was also co- produced by Jim Wood (member of Dishwalla) at Radiostar Studios in Weed, California
"Soul Circus Cowboys is a great band," claimed Jason. "We are a family and we have each others' backs. Everyone does their homework and we subsequently enjoy the music that follows. After we had played together the first time just thirty seconds in, everyone was grinning ear to ear. We were laying it down right from the start and that hasn't changed. I am really excited about our upcoming appearances on national television and look forward to being a part of the Soul Circus Cowboys for many years to come."
Guitar - Terry Cole:
Terry Cole is a seasoned and talented guitarist who has developed road bands for many years. Within a short period of time, usually months, his road bands have opened for such entertainers as George Jones, Gretchen Wilson, Kenney Chesney, Big N' Rich, George Strait, Mark Chestnut, and Aaron Tippin. The real passion for Terry lies with coaching vocals although he has performed on the big stage including a stint playing acoustic guitar for Billy McKnight.
"The guys in Soul Circus Cowboys are easy to work with and at the same time, they are very professional," relayed Cole. "You are not going to find anybody better out there than Billy as a lead vocalist, for example, or Jason on the drums or Chaz on bass or Johnny Chromatic on guitar. After we first played together for an hour, I knew these guys were going national."
Acoustic/vocals - Dewey Buxton:
Dewey Buxton and Billy McKnight have known each other since childhood and the two of them dreamed about taking a national stage together. In the interim, Dewey performed with a group called Flood, warming up for bands like Three Doors Down at the "Bud Bowl" as part of Tampa's Super Bowl festivities. He especially enjoyed performing at Livestock between bands like Disturbed and Linkin Park during one of his three years playing at the festival.
"Billy McKnight and I first spoke about Soul Circus Cowboys some four years ago," claimed Dewey. "I have never been able to harmonize vocally with any singer the way that I can with Billy. We have chemistry and a story to tell. Add to that, the incredible musicians that came together in Soul Circus Cowboys and you can imagine how blessed I feel to be a part of a national band that can rock with the best of them."
