The upcoming Bio Careers Virtual Job Summit offers an impressive lineup of speakers and topics to help postgraduate life scientists advance their careers. The world’s first online job fair, the summit will feature relevant webinars by professionals from leading organizations.

Bio Careers is the first and only career service dedicated to expanding professional options for life science PhDs and MDs. It provides online career resources and job postings to post-graduate and alumni candidates, as well as recruitment services to employers. Founded in 2006, the company is headquartered in Santa Cruz, Calif.

Here is the event schedule:

· July 27: Reshma Parmar, Esq., will discuss immigration solutions for researchers and scientists, including EB1 Extraordinary Alien and EB2 National Interest Waiver categories. Parmar is an established business immigration attorney with 13-plus years of specialized experience working with scientists and researchers.

· Aug. 17: Sarah Pick will interview Derek Haseltine about how to improve your networking at scientific meetings. Haseltine is the director for Research Career Development and co-director for the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

· Aug. 24: Thomas Patrick, “Coach Tom,” will address how traditional job search methods can prolong searches and simple strategies to overcome “search inertia.”

The Virtual Job Summit will enable employers to recruit seasoned postgraduate life scientists from the top 15 percent of U.S. training institutions. Employers will be able to upload brochures, white papers, videos and webinar recordings to their virtual booths. Jobseekers will be able to browse among employers, download information and return during the two-day live event on October 5 and 6 to speak with employers via video chat.

“For employers, this will be the most efficient, cost-effective way to recruit top-level, work-experienced, postgraduate life scientists,” said President Nick Folger. “For jobseekers, it’s an opportunity to research and meet employers that are geographically distant.”
