The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) will sponsor a Fall Course Cluster from November 11-13 in Denver, Colorado. All of the education courses are approved for AMA PRA category 1 and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits.

The Occupational Medicine Board Review provides assistance and instruction for those physicians who wish to become certified in occupational medicine certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine .

Foundations of Occupational Medicine (Segment 1) is intended for physicians interested in, but not particularly familiar with occupational medicine (OM). This course provides an excellent and comprehensive introduction to this specialty.

AMA Guides to Permanent Impairment, Mastering the 6th Edition is meant for physicians involved in performing impairment assessments. They need to understand both concepts of the 6th Edition and how to apply the new process and criteria.

On the other hand, the MRO Comprehensive Course is for physicians or health care professionals interested in developing or improving skills in conducting alcohol and urine drug screening, evaluating results, addressing job safety and return-to-work issues, and interpreting federal regulations.

These govern truckers, pilots, Department of Transportation workers, federal contractors, and workers in the energy industry.

For more information, call ACOEM at 847/818-1800, or visit the web site at www.acoem.org.

The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is an international medical society of 5,000 occupational physicians and other health care professionals.

It provides leadership skills in promoting optimal health and safety of workers, workplaces, and environments.
