The Pan-Pacific Surgical Association will host its 30th Hawaii Plastic Surgery Symposium from January 28th to 30th.
Among the numerous experts who will be sharing their concepts and techniques is Dr. Ashkan Ghavami, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and Co-Chair of the symposium. Dr. Ghavami continues to dedicate his time to teaching and sharing of ideas and techniques with colleagues, even during the current economic challenges.

Ghavami is scheduled to speak on several topics, including Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty, Ethnic Rhinoplasty, and the S-Curve Buttock LiftZ. This is just one of four conferences in which Dr. Ghavami plans to teach at in 2012.
In his remarks on lower eyelid blepharoplasty, Ghavami will discuss an advanced five-step approach that involves, among other things, the selective release of the orbicularis retaining ligament and filling the deep malar fat compartment.
According to a recent study co-authored by Dr. Ghavami, this method of blending the eyelid-cheek transition zone can be essential to achieving natural and safer results in lower eyelid rejuvenation.
He will also offer his insights on rhinoplasty procedures. He offers open and closed rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills. His approach is to lift the soft tissues, sculpt the bone and cartilage underneath, and then, as needed, transfer additional cartilage to the nose from the septum (or from the ear or ribs, in cases of revision rhinoplasty or complex primary procedures).
During this procedure, it is also critical to improve breathing (correction of a deviated septum), and to meticulously shape the nostrils (which are often neglected). Dr. Ghavami is a strong proponent of preserving the distinct ethnic features of a patient, and he plans to discuss the merits of the so-called “ethno-sensitive” approach.
The specialist will also discuss fat transfer to the buttock – specifically, the success of his method of analysis and technical nuances, with the S-Curve Buttock LiftZ.
This whole-body approach serves to transform the entire body silhouette, combining liposuction and body fat transfer (rather than implants) to provide a more natural, enhanced, and curvaceous appearance.
