Campden Publishing Unveils new Med Comms Division and World-First Technology Licence

-

Campden Publishing launched its medical and educational communications division.

To coincide with the launch, Campden Health Communications has
separately announced that it has secured a high-tech ‘Augmented Reality’
innovation that enables its readers to upload video content directly to
their smart phones – simply by scanning a magazine image.

This is the first time the ‘Aurasma’ pattern recognition system, created by software company
Autonomy, has been employed in the healthcare sector.

Campden Health Communications builds on the knowledge and relationships
forged over 10 years of servicing UK primary and European secondary
healthcare stakeholders with a suite of established, highly respected
journals, a large and diverse client base, and depth of digital and events
experience.

It will now extend these relationships by
focusing on meeting the many innovative, bespoke requirements of its
customers in print, digitally and face-to-face.

Readers of the latest issue of GP Business, Campden Publishing’s UK
general practitioner title, can trigger related video information straight
to their iPhone, iPad or any android device by scanning the cover image with
their smart phones after downloading the Aurasma app online.

Alex Beaumont, Campden Publishing’s General Manager, said: “This
innovative use of technology is the first and only instance of a healthcare
publication using Autonomy’s ‘Augmented Reality’ to enhance the experience
of its readers.”

We believe this exciting development adds a new dimension to GP
Business by bringing content alive for SmartComms users.”
