-

LightPointe, the number one manufacturer of point-to-point wireless Free Space Optics and Hybrid Optical-Radio data bridges, and a leading innovator in 60/70/80 GHz 4G/LTE backhaul solutions, announced that it has obtained a General Services Administration contract. The GSA Schedules program establishes long-term government-wide contracts with commercial firms at volume discount pricing.

“We are pleased this contract is in place and excited about the opportunity to assist government customers quickly and easily as agencies purchase our free space optics, hybrid optical-RF and 60/70/80 GHz wireless solutions,” said Dr. Heinz Willebrand, CEO for LightPointe. “We have a long track record providing point-to-point wireless bridges to local, state and federal government agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, NSA, CIA, United States Marine Corp, Navy, Air Force, Army, and Coast Guard. This milestone is the latest in a series of growth initiatives at LightPointe, which include personnel additions, new products and a new website with tools designed to assist customers with wireless deployment.”

LightPointe’s products are available on the GSA Advantage site. Products include point-to-point licensed and unlicensed microwave backhaul solutions, including 60 GHz backhaul and 70/80 GHz backhaul radios, Free Space Optics bridges and LightPointe’s new HyBridge™ Series of optical-RF wireless bridges, with up to 99.999% availability.

“Whether assisting the government with first responder/disaster relief communications and recovery, or deploying point-to-point wireless bridges within a municipality for video security backhaul or communications, LightPointe manufactures the broadest selection of optical, hybrid and radio frequency backhaul solutions available in the industry,” said John Taylor, vice president of sales and marketing at LightPointe. “Our products provide Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and low latency, and have been proven in demanding environments including military theater operations and wireless C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) applications. Our solutions have also been installed in college, university and other school campus environments. For about the cost our competitors sell software upgrade keys for Gigabit Ethernet performance, we can provide a brand new bridge and warranty.”
