New Executive for Facilities Development and Engineering at NewYork-Presbyterian

Sharon Greenberger is joining NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s management team as senior vice president for facilities development and engineering.

She was most recently chief operating officer of the New York City Department of Education.

As chief operating officer for the New York City Department of Education, Ms. Greenberger was responsible for coordinating all operations and programs that serve the city’s 1.1 million public school children, including 1,700 schools, 135,000 employees and a $ 24 billion annual budget. Previously, she served as president and CEO of the New York City School Construction Authority; vice president for campus planning and real estate at New York University; chief of staff to the New York City deputy mayor for economic development and rebuilding; and vice president for economic development at the Alliance for Downtown New York.

Ms. Greenberger has a B.A. from Wesleyan University in English and history and a master’s degree in city planning from MIT. She is the recipient of awards and honors, including the March of Dimes Service to Humanity Award; the New York Building Congress Leadership Award; the Subcontractors Trade Association Public Official of the Year, 2008; Women Builders in Construction Champion Award; and the Professional Women in Construction Leadership Award.

Fritz Reuter, the outgoing senior vice president, will continue in an advisory capacity. “I want to thank Fritz for his years of outstanding leadership, through which the Hospital has undergone substantial expansion and modernization with the addition of high-tech, patient-centered facilities,” says Dr. Corwin.
