South Australia’s Public Health System Signs Accord with Sunrise Enterprise

-

SA Health, the public health system of South Australia, has signed the final agreement to deploy Sunrise Enterprise suite of advanced clinical, access management and financial solutions from Allscripts across its network of metropolitan and rural hospitals. SA Health’s hospitals and health clinics serve a population of 1.6 million in an area approximately 40 percent larger than Texas.

The new agreement finalizes a process that began at the end of 2010, when SA Health selected Allscripts as vendor of choice for the Government of South Australia’s initiative to implement an integrated Electronic Health Record across SA Health facilities.

Sunrise Enterprise, including a fully integrated acute care Electronic Health Record, will provide the project’s central hub, called the Enterprise Patient Administration System. The solution will enable SA Health’s caregivers to gain timely and secure access to a patient’s vital information, helping to improve patient care, satisfaction and clinical workflow.

Working with Allscripts over the last year has confirmed our view that they are an excellent partner with the right global team, experience and technology to deliver the foundation for South Australia’s e-health record system.” – Paddy Phillips SA Health Chief Medical Officer

We are excited to move forward with Sunrise from Allscripts to help us improve clinical safety and efficiency across all our health services,” he said.

The Allscripts Sunrise Enterprise suite will replace multiple obsolete and unconnected information systems and databases across SA Health.

We are proud that SA Health selected Allscripts, after an extensive review of the market, to build an information and connectivity infrastructure supporting world-class healthcare for the people of South Australia.”  –  Glen Tullman Chief Executive Officer Allscripts

Sunrise Enterprise suite helps healthcare organizations save time, costs and lives by delivering the insights that caregivers need to improve patient health outcomes. As a result, the many individuals involved in a patient’s care can share information seamlessly.

Using integrated Sunrise solutions, information hand-offs, also known as transitions of care, between providers, departments, shifts and facilities can be completed efficiently and accurately.
